Birmingham, AL – Residents and visitors using or planning to use The World Games 2022 transit line tonight, should be weather aware: 

• If you are at any of The World Games venue lots and severe weather hits, return to your vehicle until weather is clear. The forecast calls for severe thunderstorms that can produce 60 mph winds, lightning, and heavy rain, which could result in flash flooding. 

• If you are using The Hub, at Rev. Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd. And 22nd Street, and there is lightning, go to the Jefferson County Personnel Board parking deck, located at in the 2121 building take cover inside the parking deck. 

• The transit lines include: 

  • The yellow line at the CrossPlex, which stops at UAB Parkside (Fifth Avenue and 13th Street South), Railroad Park, Sloss Furnaces and stops in Avondale, then makes a return trip with the same stops. 

  • The red line in downtown Homewood is at 18th Street South and 28th Avenue South. It will make nearly 16 stops before it reaches The Hub, Rev. Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd and 22nd Street North.   

  • The blue line starts at Legion Field and makes no stops before dropping off at The Hub, which is located Rev. Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd and 22nd Street North. 

  • Parking for the green line is at the World Games East Parking lot, also known as the PNC lot, at Fifth Avenue South and 33rd Street South.  The green line makes a loop, going by Powell Avenue, Pepper Place, Avondale Park and Sloss Furnaces. 

• If you are walking and can get back to the venue, get to a lobby and take shelter.  

• If severe weather hits, the transit line will halt until weather is clear. 

• Lupe Fiasco’s concert is still planned tonight at 9. World Games continues to monitor the weather to make a decision about the concert. Be on the alert for additional updates from World Games.
