#1: M 5.6 quake: North of Honduras on Mon, 10 Aug 14h13 - 124 reports
At 08:13 am local time today 10 Aug 2020, a shallow (depth around 10 km) magnitude 5.7 quake hit beneath the Caribbean Sea 100 km north of Honduras.
It was clearly felt by people in coastal areas of northern Honduras and eastern Belize, mostly as weak to light shaking. Stronger shaking was felt on the small islands near the epicenter i.e. the Islas de la Bahía (or Bay Islands), where some damage from falling objects, broken glass and cracks in walls could have occurred. Due to is distance from the coast, no significant damage should be expected in the mainland areas, however. There is no tsunami risk from this quake.
A user described "the entire (two-story) house shaking", another mentioned hearing a loud booming sound after the quake.
Today's earthquake is likely an aftershook of the 7.5 quake on 10 Jan 2018. They were caused by movement along the Swan Island transform fault separating the North American (north of the fault) and Caribbean Plates (south of it).
